Louisa painted her first Irish Native Breed of dog when she was three years old. The dog portrayed was an Irish Wolfhound. Her first teacher at school had told the class the old Irish legend of Cucullen. The story is about ancient times when Setanta a young warrior had mistakenly killed his masters hound. Setanta was so devasted by what he had done he vowed to take the hounds place. He was renamed Cucullen(hound of Cullen) and fought in the warrior hound's place until he was killed in battle. While he was dying he tied himself to a post and bravely fought until he had taken his very last breath.
